The two most fascinating things I could find as a child were books and wildlife. Books filled my mind with stories that were fantastical and free, while my fascination with wildlife kept me grounded, but also brought a bit of fantasy into my everyday life. These fascinations have followed me into adulthood and can be seen in what I make. I would never have practiced or improved in my art career without them. Animals are a common subject in my art, and using them to illustrate a story to those who view my art is a major goal of mine.
I try not to keep myself in a box when it comes to the mediums I use. I have a few preferences, oil paints, graphite and clay being a few of them, but what drives me to create is exploring and discovering new techniques. Usually, instead of creating an idea with a specific media in mind, I form the idea, then find whatever medium would be best to accomplish it.
